No Tack and Clothing sale will be held at the Amateur Show unless someone wants to step up to organize it.
Our Amateur meeting was held in Castle Rock on Nov 3rd. We had a great turn out and discussed a lot of items.
We discussed our eligibility requirements and voted to change the rule about the percentage of the judges that will count for year end awards. A motion was made by Megan Hunter and seconded by Kim Pettibone to count 100% of your points for the year. It passed by a vote of 18 for and 4 against. This will take affect for the 2008 year.
Amateurs that get $300.00 in sponsorships will receive one credit hour.
We discussed what a sponsor would receive for each level of Sponsorship. For a copy of sponsorship levels contact either Denise Dunlap or Julie Beard. We all need to think about getting Sponsorships and methods of raising money.
We will be having a Silent Auction at our Amateur Show. Contact Penny Gibson or Denise Dunlap if you will have items for the Silent Auction.
We discussed our awards budget and awards will be getting ordered soon. You will be given a choice between a few items and within the time set aside you will need to let Julie know what you want so we can get the awards ordered to have them here for the banquet. Our budget is down this year as all the shows were down.
The Amateur show will remain at the Event Center in Denver in May.
The Amateurs will be sponsoring a clinic or clinics sometime in the spring. Kim Pettibone is putting together a business plan on this and more information will be coming soon. We are trying to get people outside of the association interested in RMPHA. We will be contacting the local 4-H clubs about these clinics. If there is a clinic you would like to see held contact Kim Pettibone, Julie Beard or Karen Katz.
